Make Cranberry Sea Moss Sauce for New Year Eve

No New Year eve is complete without cranberry sauce and our version uses sea moss to achieve that perfect jiggle and thick consistency, naturally, while boosting its nutritional profile. It’s vibrant, tangy, and subtly sweet.

Let’s start quickly so that you prepare sea moss sauce easily to complement and spice up your dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries

  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)

  •  1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave nectar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 cup prepared sea moss gel

  • 1 tsp orange zest

  • Pinch of ground ginger (optional, for extra warmth)

  1. Instructions:

    1. Rinse the cranberries thoroughly.

    2. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange juice, maple syrup, and orange zest.

    3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. The cranberries will begin to burst and soften.

    4. Reduce the heat to low and continue to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until most of the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened slightly.

    5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the sea moss gel and optional ground ginger until thoroughly combined. The sea moss will help to thicken the sauce further as it cools.

    6. Allow the sauce to cool completely at room temperature, then transfer it to a serving bowl or airtight container.

    7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to allow the sauce to set and the flavors to meld.

    8. Serve chilled alongside your holiday feast!
